These two pieces were brought in with extensive damage on both.

The Candle holder on the left was smashed into five larger pieces and also had approximately 23 smaller shards which had shattered off.
The Vase had the front area with the flowers on broken out and smashed into approximately 20 pieces in total.

The pieces were cleaned and after working out the order in which they had to be adhered, the gradual process of gluing could begin. the pieces were glued together using a specialist two part epoxy, then once set the remaining cracks were colour filled with the same epoxy which was tinted with coloured powder pigments to match to minimise the over painting required.

The repairs were painted with the background first using Cold Glaze with dry powder pigments to colour which took some time to complete as the colours had to be built up in layers to match the blush colours then the flowers had to be hand painted. Finally the gilded areas were also painted back in.

Finally the repairs were glazed over with Cold Glaze, including added fumed silica to matt down the repairs to match the rest of the piece.
